Schwarze Augen, Maria
Premiere 16. November 2013 am Deutschen Schauspielhaus Hamburg
Within the former Elise-Averdieck-Schule, a school building in central Hamburg, several eccentric families have lived for almost a decade. The children exhibit social abnormalities accompanied by peculiar mental and physical defects. However, they all possess unusual talents and penetrating black eyes. A medical expert tracked their unique syndrome and assigned the families to a residential care home. Ever since, he has investigated the phenomena with a small team of nurses. A traffic accident about twenty years ago in Hamburg Altenwerder near the off-motorway service "Trucker
Treff" seems to be the initiating event: All the mothers of the community were involved in this accident - either directly or
indirectly. Now, after their 20th birthday, the sons and daughters of the community desire to present themselves to the public. The families break their confinement and invite guests to an open day at the "Haus Lebensbaum".
